Event Details

Mr. McDermott is a member of Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation and served as an Ontario municipal politician for 28 years. He is currently Executive Director or Plenty Canada, Co-chair of the Canadian Environmental Network Biodiversity Caucus and an Ontario Human Rights Commissioner.

The series continues bi-monthly with five other speakers including:

Tim Johnson, Mohawk Nation, former Program Director at the Smithsonian's Museum of the American Indian, Executive Producer of the documentary RUMBLE: The Indian Who Rocked The World, and Co-chair of the Landscape of Nations Memorial.

Rick McLean, Anishinaube Wolf Clan, sweat lodge and song keeper, pipe carrier, healer, musician and co-founder of the indigenous rock band Crooked Trail.
